The Building Excellence in Support and Training (BEST) Grants Program forms part of the Government's commitment to support the role of ex-service organisation pension and welfare practitioners and advocates, who provide advice and assistance to the veteran and Defence communities.

Grants in Aid

The Grants in Aid (GIA) program aims to support the role of national ex-service organisations (ESOs) which provide coordinating and representational support within the veteran and Defence community.

This program, open to bona fide national ESOs, also provides funding to encourage cooperation and communication between the ex-service community, ESOs and the Australian Government. Funding for national ESOs aims to encourage the advancement of the objectives of ESOs.

Reconnect Grant Opportunity

Existing Reconnect providers are invited to submit an application for new grants to continue delivering their Reconnect services.

Veteran and Community Grants

The Veteran and Community Grants program aims to maintain and improve the independence and quality of life for members of the veteran community by providing funding for projects that support activities and services to sustain or enhance health and wellbeing.

National Disability Conference Initiative 2018-19

The National Disability Conference Initiative aims to assist eligible conference organisers to maximise the inclusion and participation of people with disability at nationally focused disability-related conferences in Australia.

The Try, Test and Learn Fund: Supporting Expecting and Parenting Teens Project

Supporting Expecting and Parenting Teens Project is an early intervention, pre-ParentsNext project that will provide timely, physical and mental healthcare and other supports to expectant and parenting teens and their child that spans pre, during and post-birth care.

Volunteer Management Activity

The Volunteer Management Activity is an element of the Families and Communities Program.  The Families and Communities Program aims to strengthen relationships, improve well-being of children and young people, reduce the cost of family breakdown, strengthen family and community functioning and facilitate the settlement of migrants and humanitarian entrants in the community.

The Try, Test and Learn Fund: Career Readiness for Young Parents Project

This project will support young parents to improve their job readiness through a high-touch case management model that focuses on non-vocational barriers to employment.

The Try, Test and Learn Fund: In-School Parent Employment Services Project

The In-School Parent Employment Services Project aims to increase employment of targeted young parents by integrating employment services into primary schools.

The Try, Test and Learn Fund: Train and Care Project

The Train and Care project will assist young parents transition into work by providing a training program, in addition to work placements, and by guaranteeing childcare placements and offering financial assistance to cover childcare costs.
