Home Interaction Program form Parents and Youngsters (HIPPY)

HIPPY is a 2 year, home-based parenting and early childhood learning program that supports parents and carers of children in the years prior to school. HIPPY is delivered in 100 communities across Australia; including 50 Indigenous focused communities, targeting around 4,000 children each year.

The program provides a structured curriculum of learning activities. Participating families spend 10 to 15 minutes a day, 5 days a week, undertaking educational activities supporting pre literacy and pre numeracy. The program also offers some parents and carers a supported pathway to employment and increases social connectedness within local communities.
