The Australian Government is inviting providers via an open process to apply to deliver services under the Community Inclusion and Capacity Development (CICD) – Implementing Information, Linkages and Capacity Building (ILC) – ILC Jurisdictional Based Grants in the ACT from July 2017 to June 2018.

Information, Linkages and Capacity Building (ILC) is all about inclusion of people with disability. It is about creating connections between people with disability and their communities. One way the NDIA wants to help create those connections is through providing grants to organisations.

The objective of the ILC Jurisdictional Based Grants – Australian Capital Territory funding round is to facilitate the roll out of ILC in the Australian Capital Territory. This objective will be achieved by funding organisations to implement activities that deliver outcomes for people with disability, their families and carers in each of the following four Activity Areas of the ILC Policy:

  • Information, linkages and referrals
  • Capacity building for mainstream services
  • Community awareness and capacity building
  • Individual capacity building.

The NDIA encourages applications from organisations for proven and/or innovative models of delivery across all Activity Areas that increase the independence, social and community participation of people with a disability. The activities funded will meet identified needs and interests of people with disability, and will reflect a contemporary, positive and progressive approach to inclusion.

Changes in Guidelines for services in Western Australia:

The Commonwealth and Western Australian Governments have signed a Bilateral Agreement covering the implementation of the NDIS in Western Australia, which provides for the Western Australia Government to fund ILC in that State. Organisations that are successful in receiving a grant under the CICD Program will not be funded for activities in Western Australia.

Updates have been included in the CICD Program Guidelines under sections 1.2, 2.6.2 & 2.7.2, the Funding Round Summary on page 1 and the Questions and Answers document under New Question and Answer added 3 March 2017 to reflect this change.
